INTERVIEW WITH PORN STAR MISTY RAIN Misty Rain was born in Long Beach, California in August of 1969, making her a Leo. Leo's are well known for their sexual appetite, and Misty, without a doubt, has a large appetite for both women and men. Her porn reputation doth precede her. Misty, you see, is an all-natural girl (no fake breasts, cheekbones, ass or lips) with an all-out desire to fully pleasure her porn co-stars, be they women or men. Even during her personal time she's a wildcat who loves to please and have erotic sex. Misty is still looking fine after all these years. I first met her in Dallas, Texas at the burned down Caligula XXI in 1995. Ten years later I'm interviewing this hot porn star again. - By Rick Ryan [Thanks to James O. Wright For The Use Of The Photos] RICK: Were here at Bazooka Showgirls in Kansas City, Missouri. It's July 15, 2005 and we are talking with the one and only porn star Misty Rain. Is this your first time in Kansas City, Missouri? MISTY: Yes, first time to Kansas City. It's nice; it's a big city. ![]() RICK: You first started off as a stripper in a LA strip circuit. What clubs did you work at in the beginning? MISTY: The very first club I ever worked at was the Wild Goose. It was over by the LAX Airport and it was a little topless bar and you can drink in there, kind of a hometown bar that was really fun. After about a year or so I just wanted to go farther. There was a couple of nude clubs right around the corner. There was Jet Strip and there was Bare Elegance and the Century Club and they were all right around the LAX Airport, and I said I want to dance nude, so I went over and started dancing nude and stuff. It was great because I could dance at all three clubs at the same time. The owners didn't care as long as I made a schedule that didn't conflict with one of the other clubs. RICK: What year was it when you first started stripping? MISTY: It was 1992. It was around Memorial Day weekend. Then it was not long after that in November when I first went into Jim South's office in Los Angeles to be a porn star. That was like November, so I had only been dancing probably six months or so before I went over there. RICK: So you answered an ad for nude models. You told me in 1995 that you weren't sure about entering the porn business then? MISTY: Yes, I wasn't sure about entering the business. But when I got to Jim South's office, he asked me to do a scene right away for Untamed Cowgirls 2. RICK: Apparently you did!MISTY: Yes, I did Jeanna Fine. It was intense and crazy. She was spitting, spanking and slapping me and using her fingers. I was shocked. It was only my second time with a woman. RICK: When you first originally started doing porn you only did girl-girl, is that right? MISTY: Yeah, yeah for probably two or three years. RICK: What made you decide to take on the studs of porn? MISTY: Oh, I don't know, just because you can actually broaden your horizons when you can do everything. It was getting to be where I was acting in a lot of people's movies and doing the girl- girl scene in a lot of movies and I wanted to be the star of the movie. In order to be the star then you would have to interact with everybody, men and women. So I was like, okay, plus I met a lot of the guys being on the set of doing girl- girl movies, so once I met them I felt more comfortable being able to do stuff with them. RICK: In 1992 and 1993, you performed in porn movies during the day, but still stripped at night, earning loads of money, I would imagine. MISTY: Yes. I was earning good money, but I slowed down in 1995. I started touring some, and that's when I first met you in Dallas. RICK: You won AVN starlet of the year in 1994. Did that bring you more work or did you like the fame of just winning that award back then?MISTY: Oh, yeah, it probably did bring me some more work. It worked out really well to win stuff like that and then to win all the awards after that was great. There are awards for the girl-girl scenes and awards for boy- girl scenes and stuff. There is one with me and Mark Wallace, so all those things, well, they help because when they are going to go and book people, they are like, we would rather have an award winner in the movie. RICK: I know back in 1996 you won AVN's best girl-girl scene from the movie 'Fantasy Chamber' with Gentile and Felicia. Do you ever still see those girls? MISTY: I see Felicia once in a while. We've remained good friends ever since the Seventies, way back you know, so we like each other. With Gentile I haven't seen her in a long time but people say she is doing really well and she is still going and doing stuff. RICK: Some of your films include 'New Wave Hookers 4,' 'The Dinner Party,' 'Debbie Does Dallas Again,' 'Dolly of Misty Rain,' 'Wide Open Places' and 'Working Girls' just to name a few. Is there any one movie that is your favorite or that sticks out in your mind after all of these years? MISTY: I have a couple movies. One I really like making was 'Red Vibe Diaries.' It was from Metro and that was really fun because it was like my first really big movie. And it was so beautiful and it is a really good movie. We won an award for it for the sex scenes in it, and I like 'Red Vibe Diaries,' period. I also liked Bruce Seven 'Butt Slammers' movies. Those are some of the best movies we ever made and 'World Wide Sex,' my own new series. RICK: Yeah, you have that series of videos titled 'Misty Rain's World Wide Sex.' How many countries have you visited to make these movies?MISTY: Let me see... the number I'm not sure of, but we went all over like Paris, Barcelona, Prague, London, and Amsterdam of course. We've probably been to half a dozen countries doing it. RICK: Was it easy to find people to be in those films? MISTY: Yeah, it wasn't hard because we have agents. There are agents that work out of those counties and luckily since we're already connected with the porn business and we know all of these people, they were giving us numbers about who to call when we got there. The reason why we started making World Wide Sex was because I did a lot of shows in Europe and France and the Czech Republic and Italy and so once I was there I met a lot of people from other countries who were the agents and we just called them up and they would make a little casting call and we would get them all together and make them get naked, take their picture and choose which one's we wanted. So it is actually not as hard as we thought it would be. RICK: You have always had an eagerness to perform sex scenes in front of the camera. Does this eagerness run over into your personal life? MISTY: Oh yeah, I really like sex so yeah it does. To tell you the truth on the videos and stuff there is a little bit more drama and acting a little more wow over the top movements and things like that, things you might not normally do at home but my enthusiasm for playmates and my enthusiasm still goes far whether I'm film or not. Maybe even more off film. Off film if you are in a real super sexy situation it might not be legal on film. ![]() RICK: You've been known as the porn industries "Cum Queen." You've also been known as one of the wildest porn stars in the business. Do you deserve this reputation? MISTY: I hope so! I don't know. I mean, I'm sure that comes from people on the outside looking in. To me I'm just doing my thing and having a lot of fun, but I had one thing that I can mention about that comment and that is I had good mentors. Girls like Debbie Diamond and wild fun girls like Bianca and all them and people who I knew in the beginning of the business who were just like lets try this and lets try that and love to be wild and I like that too, so I kind of learned from them and then created it into my own. RICK: You have your own production company now? MISTY: Yes, we're going to go by Pure Field Productions and we also use Misty Rain Entertainment and right now the only lines out under that are 'World Wide Sex' and 'Lost Episodes.' Were just making a movie where we were shooting scenes all the way back from 1996 and Alicia is in it, my girlfriend Dominique and Cheyenne. We had scenes we shot and never did anything with. They were in the safe, so we are like, well, what are we ever going to do? Lets put it into a movie and see if the people will like it. RICK: How much longer do you intend to stay in this business? MISTY: Well, now with the producing/directing maybe I can stay a little bit longer and make a life out of it. Otherwise, as far as acting and stuff, I'd like to have children and have a family soon and stuff, so maybe another year or so as far as that. Or maybe I'll just miss it so much and come back and do my own thing. But as far as having our own production, then I can stay for a long time. I intend to shoot some more and make some new movies. RICK: Do you have a fan club address or web site address? MISTY: Yes I sure do! If you want to write letters, I like to write letters back, sometimes. I'm not always so prompt but I will write my fans back. It is 3940 Laurel Canyon Blvd., #779 in Studio City, California 91604. And for the web sites the addresses are: (www.mistyrain.net) or you can do (www.worldwidesex.net) It will show you a lot of our pictures from traveling and stuff like that. RICK: Is there anything else you would like to say to our readers and to your fans out there before we end this interview?MISTY: I guess thanks for all the support and for all the love and for just enjoying the movies that I've made over the years. RICK: Well thank you for your time Misty. I sure do appreciate it and it has been a long time since I last you… in 1995. I must admit you look as good now you did back then. Maybe one of these days you'll give me the secret to forever looking and staying young. MISTY: Ahhhh, you are so kind. Maybe I will one of these days. (Grinning) Thank you so much Rick. It's been a pleasure seeing you again. In 1995 Misty told me that she feels lucky that she can work out all of her anxieties and aggressions in front of the camera. She told me that she felt free making an X-rated video because it gave her a license to do anything. "I get to hide behind a costume or persona and explore all my fantasies. Not everyone can say that about his or her job. I feel very lucky in being able to do so Rick." Will Misty ever retire completely from the business? I doubt it! I know what Leo's are all about since I'm a Leo myself, and sex is too important in her life to walk away from it entirely. I haven't since I entered the business in 1967. Misty won't either! She may take a breather or vacation now and then, but those hormones and love of sex would bring her back. She'll just become another Dave Cummings making porn into the elder years of life, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'd like to thank Misty Rain, Botch, and the owner of Bazooka's Showgirls, the managers and dancers for a great time again. I'd also like to thank James O. Wright for taking the live photographs of Misty performing on stage. For more information on Bazooka's Showgirls call (816) 421-1915. Writes Note: Recently the Missouri Legislation passed a bill that would essentially shut down the adult industry in Missouri - particularly gentlemen's clubs because of all the rules like no nudity, no touching, etc. Think about it? You can fight in Iraq for this country, but you're freedoms in choice in this country can be taken away from you as it is in Missouri. As Missouri Ace (www.missouriace.com) said, "Freedom means we get to choose our own culture. Freedom means government minds their own business." You have the right to remain silent. That's the problem. Too many of you have been silent across this great nation for too long. No matter if you live in Missouri, Montana, California, and Texas or wherever, it is time to be heard from by calling local city officials, state representatives, state senators and the governor to let them know that we don't live in communist controlled counties. That you do believe in the Constitution of the United States very strongly. When voices remain silent, evil will dictate! That evil in Missouri has been Senator Matt Bartle (Republican) and those who voted yes on the bill that will take your freedom of choice away from you. I'll have more on this later. - Rick Ryan. |
