DEVON MICHAELS - SUPERSTAR! By Rick Ryan Live Photographs by James O. Wright Devon Michael's stands naked in front of a room full of men at Bazooka's Showgirls in Kansas City, Missouri. Her skin shines under the stage lights and gives off a soft creamy glow. As the men sit in the audience admiring her body, Devon's body has the men spellbound. She still has the body that she had when I first met her in 1995 in Arlington, Texas. As I snap photographs of Devon on stage, you can see why she's been featured in fitness and body-building magazines, much less all the layouts she's done for men's magazines.During her show she smiles at men, undresses totally out of her hundreds of stage outfits that she owns, and gives the men what they came for - a great show from an entertainer, magazine model and porn star. Devon's petite frame always knocks out the men in the audience. She may be in her Thirties, but she still has the body of a nineteen-year-old. After her show and autograph signing upstairs in the video store, Devon took the time once again to talk with me about her life and what she's been up to during the last couple of years. Here's my exclusive interview with the extraordinary Devon Michaels. RICK: Today I'm with Devon Michaels in Kansas City, Missouri at Bazooka's Showgirls. The last time I saw you in Council Bluffs, Iowa at The Playhouse you told me you opened up a new club. DEVON: Yes. Elliott's in Peoria, Illinois.RICK: How is that going for you? DEVON: It's going great. I've got a really good staff of girls. My oldest girl just turned 21. They are all very young and very cute, excellent on the pole. It is a great little club. RICK: What have you been doing since I last saw you? DEVON: Dancing, making movies. I just finished a big movie for Wicked called "Three Wishes," which Stormy Daniels wrote, directed and starred in with me. Stormy plays an angel and I play the devil and Eric Masterson plays the character that has gotten three wishes from the devil and they are just not turning out very well, so Stormy tries to save the day. RICK: Now something you don't talk too much about that people are unaware of, but you also make videos for California Wildcats, a female wrestling video company. DEVON: Yes, here and their every once in a while I make videos for California Wildcats and a couple of other different cat fight companies. RICK: Now these catfights... are they erotic wrestling videos?DEVON: Both! Some of them are just strictly cat fighting and some are girl on girl sex. RICK: Interesting. I would imagine when you are doing these nude erotic fights do you ever get turned on? DEVON: Well of course I do, especially if I know it is going to end in sex because then I get a happy ending out of it. They always put me with really good girls. RICK: Are you still traveling as much doing your shows through the country as you were two or three years ago? DEVON: You know I took a little bit of time off but now I'm back in full force. I'm doing probably like two weekends out of each month on the road. So yeah, I was actually going to retire at the end of this year but I just had so many requests for bookings I said all right, two more years and then I'll quit. RICK: So two more years and then you are going to call it quits.DEVON: Yeah, we'll see. RICK: I remember back in `95 when you told me you'd never do porn. DEVON: Exactly. But the future can change, you know? I'm just going to make my money, and I'm still having fun and I still have a lot of fans out there so I might as well. RICK: Well as long as you have a lot of fans out there and you still look as good as you do, you might as well. DEVON: Well thank you. RICK: When you're at home just taking it easy, what do you like to do? DEVON: I like to watch television for hours on end on my couch. I go to the gym. When I'm home, I'm running my club too, so I don't have a lot of free time. Mostly just relax. RICK: What are your favorite TV shows?DEVON: Law and Order. I've always been a huge, huge fan of Law and Order. I think every show should be Law and Order or a derivative of it, which it pretty much is these days. I also like Cold Case. I like dramas. RICK: Have you gotten into any of the reality shows? DEVON: I hate reality shows. I like sitcoms and dramas. I'm sick of there not being any writers in Hollywood. There is nothing original anymore. I am so sick of reality TV. I hate it, I want a story. RICK: Even Survivor? DEVON: Even Survivor, I hate reality TV. The only one that I liked was that one the guy that did Super size me. He had a reality show where he took people and made them do something completely opposite of what they normally do. Like if they were very homophobic they would have a gay roommate. That was kind of interesting and kind of different.RICK: I don't think I have ever asked you this before but what kind of man turns you on? DEVON: I have a height requirement of 6'4" or better. I like guys with dark hair, not to be shallow. But really tall guys with dark hair, and I really like a guy that's both funny and smart and has a good job. I'm not going to lie, I don't settle for less. RICK: You have a web site for fans, but do you have a fan club address as well? DEVON: No just the website. I do everything through the web now. I'm just traveling so much and I'm so busy when I am home that I wasn't able to get the orders filled or do as much as I wanted and it wasn't fair to the guys, so I do everything through the web.RICK: And what is that address? DEVON: www.devonsbodyshop.net RICK: Well I sure do appreciate your time Devon. I hope you enjoy you're second booking here at Bazooka's Showgirls in Kansas City. DEVON: Oh, Bazooka's has always been very good to me. It's also great to see you again. We have a decade together now, don't we?RICK: We sure do! Even though I rarely see you, it's like old friends seeing one another again. DEVON: It sure is! You take good care of yourself Rick, and if you ever get up my way, please stop by my club. RICK: I sure will. Thanks for taking the time with me again. You've always been a delight to see and talk with. DEVON: Thanks Rick! As always a big thank you goes out to the owner of Bazooka's Showgirls, the night manager Jimmy, Botch, the dancers, and all the employees at the club who make me feel very comfortable every time I walk through their door. I'd also like to thank Devon once again for allowing me the time to interview her. Devon said that as long as people demand her presence, she'd continue featuring on the road. She told me probably another two years, but I won't be surprised if she extends that two-year period into another 4 or 6 years. With Devon, of course, you never know for sure.
