Qlimax Times Online - Midgets Gone Wild

MIDGETS GONE WILD

The limits of smutdom have been pressed in all kinds of directions over the last twenty years. We've had films about older women, women who squirt, transvestism and just about every perversion, fetish and sexual desire imaginable - or legal. They've also had films with midgets (dwarfs, little people, etc.)!

In August of 2004 I caught up with one of those who made a living for a few years from the porn industry. Bridget Powerz, better known as Bridget the Midget, came to Kansas City to perform and get a tattoo. Oh yes, she loves tattoos! I sat down with Bridget while she was getting that tattoo and suffering the pain from the needle.

Interview Site: Exile Tattoo in Kansas City where Bridget Powerz whose currently featuring at Bazookas Showgirls in Kansas City is getting some ink. - Words And Live Photos By Rick Ryan.

Rick: Why don't we start in the beginning where you were born?

Bridget: I'm a good old girl born in Boise Idaho but I moved to Los Angeles of course when I was two. I grew up in Orange County and that is about it. I'm an O.C. girl. In a minute my voice may change because I'm going to have needles poking me so I might start talking funny.

Rick: What was early childhood like for you?

Bridget: A lot of kids made fun of me, it wasn't easy growing up so I've grown to be very defensive, I'm very self-defensive and I don't take shit from nobody. I defiantly, defiantly have a way to get out of things.

Rick: Did you attend regular school?

Bridget: I attended regular school however I had thirteen surgeries which means I had to be in the hospital so I had a lot of home tutoring. And when I attended my regular schools it was only six months at a time because my family moved so much. So I basically moved every six months. I attended regular schools but then I had home schooling because of the surgeries so I didn't have a regular education I would say. It is like Swiss cheese... my education.

Rick: Now what kind of operations did you have to go through?

Bridget: A majority of little people with bone problems have what you call bowed legs, like a cowboy is best I can describe it because we don't have any cartilage in our joints. Our bones are so soft, we don't digest calcium very well so our bones are made up of other things except calcium so they are soft causing them to bow. My legs bowed badly and doctors tried to make them as straight as they could and after a while you can only do so much. So I've had thirteen surgeries to correct my bowed legs and one worked and one didn't, so I have a bad left knee. It's an old football injury.

Rick: An old football injury?

Bridget: Yeah, it's just an old midget injury actually.

Rick: You know people use a lot of terms; midget, little people and so forth. I guess you are probably used to all of them aren't you?

Bridget: Oh, absolutely. Politically correct is dwarf, dwarfism, little person, short stature. The most un-politically correct worst thing that a little person thinks you could say is midget. I see nothing wrong or offensive about the word, ironically it rhymes with my name Bridget. I like Brigitte Bardot. I'm not offended by it and I think if I use the word midget more little people might not be as offended by it because I'm not trying to really make fun of myself. I use the word Bridget the Midget and I'm sexy, so it's not like Bridget the Midget ha, ha look at me. It's Bridget the Midget. I'm touching myself.

Rick: Well it rhymes.

Bridget: Ironically.

Rick: Well now... what point of life did you become interested in adult entertainment?

Bridget: Eighteen years old. I was about seventeen years old dancing at a Gothic nightclub and this guy asked me to be in gothic porn. So that is kind of how I slipped into it.

Rick: You actually did porn for how many years?

Bridget: 3 ½ years! 18, 19, 20 and I stopped at 20 ½.

Rick: And that was because of health issues?

Bridget: Yes, I was afraid of catching HIV. They test you once a month and you can still be positive and show up negative. When I found out the reality I said that's it, my life isn't worth it or them.

Rick: So you got out of porn. Once you got out of porn what did you aim for?

Bridget: Like all porn stars, except I had been successful at it, I crossed into a lot of mainstream movies and made a lot of money doing that. A lot of people wanted to see me strip so finally I gave in and I go on the road dancing now because people really want to see me live up and close. I'm releasing my first album, I joined a band and it took me about three years to get my stuff together and we're signed with Embryo Records and everything is going out great. So I'm singing and acting and doing things like that.

Rick: So what is the name of the band?

Bridget: Bridget the Midget and Black Out. It was Rolling Black Out because we are from California and then the rolling blackouts went away so we changed it to Black Out, Blakkout, and then people saw us and all they would scream is Bridget, so we changed it to Bridget the Midget and Blakkout.

Rick: You are the lead singer?

Bridget: Yes.

Rick: I briefly had a chance to listen to one of your songs on the Internet and in that song you are talking about safe sex?

Bridget: Yes, it is about practicing safe sex defiantly. It says use a condom, practice safe sex, always use a condom practice safe sex and I've said it many ways to have it get through and what can happen if you don't.

Rick: What is the title of that song?

Bridget: "Meet My Friend."

Rick: Now you mentioned the mainstream movies. What have you done and I hear there is a new one coming out that you are in.

Bridget: "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind," directed by George Clooney. I was in "Swat" directed by, oh I can't remember his name but Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool Jay was in it. Boy did he have nice abs. I also did "Tiptoes" that came out September 3RD. You can get that at Blockbuster or any major place. It is with Matthew McConaughey, Kay Beckinsale, Gary Oldman and David Alan Greer.

Rick: You met quite a few damn good actors.

Bridget: Quite a few. May I mention Matthew McConaughey is the sweetest person?

Rick: What was the experience like, being in a mainstream movie?

Bridget: When I used to do adult films I thought it was very difficult and hard and I really thought it was hard and the money wasn't good. When I did mainstream movies and even though you only see 2 seconds of me and you're there all day, doing real movies is about 10 to 20 times more harder than doing a porn. It really is. You have to know your lines, have to practice, and have to learn how to do them different ways. It's not easy being an actor. I've taken many acting lessons, I've been coached, been through drama and I know a little bit about it so I thought would be easy until I got into the acting and singing business and I realized singing is not just getting up there and singing. You have to know your words, you can't be drunk, you have to know when and what you are saying. You have to be on key. You have to know what costume changes to make and it's not easy like I thought. And sometimes you can't hear yourself as you sing. Can you imagine, it is like being blindfolded and someone saying hey go down the block and get me some Jack Daniel's but you can't see how to get there. You know what you want but you can't be it.

Rick: You were on the Howard Stern show, what was that like and how did Howard treat you?

Bridget: I've been on it five times. The first time he was hesitant and after that he treated me very, very well because he realized I had a good head on my shoulders and I knew where I was going in life. And I wasn't just doing it to be famous like all porn stars think not all some think they can do porn and become famous and I had other reasons for doing it and he respects well I think. It was fun to do. I did it quite a while ago.

Rick: What other TV shows have you been on?

Bridget: I've been on all Sex Court and Playboy Night Court. TV shows, wow I wish I had my thing in front of me. Yeah, I did Maury Povich, VH1, The Mann Show, The Andy Dick Show, Talk Soup and the Roseanne Show. I think I was on Blind Date. I did a lot of stuff. I just can't remember all of them for some reason. Oh, Johnny Neurotic and Upside Down TV.

Rick: Have you done any music videos?

Bridget: Yes, Midgets Gone Wild or Midgets Gone Mad... something like that. It's a take off on those videos where girls flash their boobies. What is it called? They lift their tops up? Oh... flashing!

Rick: Since you're a singer now, I think you mentioned the fact one time that you would like to do your own punk rock version, I guess, of the song "Little People" by Randy Neuman.

Bridget: Where did you hear that?

Rick: I don't remember where.

Bridget: Well maybe I will but I have never said that. No I haven't thought about it. I might, what do you think?

Rick: I think it would be pretty cool doing a punk version.

Bridget: I want to do the punk version of South Park and instead of going Timmy, I want to go Bridget.

Rick: How's your life now a days? Are you dating anyone? Do you date?

Bridget: Let me tell you this, as a little person some people say I only date tall people. Me I don't care, you can be fat, skinny, tall, midget, wheel chair handicapped, blind, I don't care. As long as you have a good personality, treat me good and some attraction in the face and eyes. Right now I'm dating a guy named Craig Hill. He used to work at KZOZ, he's a radio producer and had me go on his radio show 5 or 6 times because he wanted to date me. And we ended up together, he knew me 4 years, we've been dating a year and it is pretty serious now. I've had like 2 or 3 serious relationships and they have all been with tall people. There are just not a lot of little people out there so and you know wee man he was married to my best friend. So he is off limits for me. You don't date your best friend's ex-boyfriends or anything like that. Guys do, but girls don't, that is disrespectful.

Rick: Are you bi-sexual?

Bridget: Yeah, I was into women until I met my boyfriend. I think women are beautiful and I've had girlfriends. I've had a few major relationships with guys but I've always been into girls and bi-sexual, yes. But my boyfriend is helping me move over to guys more. I'm digging him more than chicks now. Except his fantasy is me and a chick. His new fantasy is me and a midget girl. That is a cool fantasy. I would let him do something with me and another midget once in a million.

Rick: I would say most guys have a fantasy of having sex with a midget but two... that would be a real mind blower.

Bridget: How could you top that?

Rick: You have a new CD coming out. Tell me about the cover of the CD, and who influenced you music wise?

Bridget: My musical influence came from the Beatles, Queen, Aerosmith and Madonna. Oh, I had a lot of artists help me out on the cover. David Seagull has done some of the portraits of my band. The actual CD cover the picture of that was taking by Julie Strain. She was in "Heavy Metal," a Queen of the B movies and the judge on Sex Court.

Rick: Yes, I am very much aware of that.

Bridget: She is a very, very good photographer and one of the most wholehearted best down to earth people I have met and the tallest woman I have ever met.

Rick: I've seen some past photos of you. You've had blonde hair, black hair, now why do you change your hair color so often?

Bridget: Because my hair is falling out. The blonde hairs are falling out so you have to put rich colors into it to get it back. I chop it short and let it grow back out and then get it blonde again. I'm a natural blonde baby, but my hair falls out from it so once a year I'll go blonde and then I have to change the color for health reasons.

Rick: So what color is your hair now?

Bridget: Blood red. Actually it's a sad story. My dog got mauled by another dog and that is why I dyed my hair blood red. My dogs fine. My dog heals fast.

Rick: I thought maybe you were trying to get into that punk rock look.

Bridget: Well, I am punk rock. I should have brought the video of my dog you'd cry. She was all on morphine after surgery and the next day she was begging for food. She is like what happened to me. Her neck got ripped.

Rick: You've got quite a few pierces, don't you?

Bridget: Mostly in my ears and just my nipple. But ears are hard because if you don't take good, good care of your ears they can deform like cauliflower, you can get infections. If you don't take good care of ear pierces, why because your ear doesn't get a lot of blood rushing through it. If any one who pierces especially cartilage beware, clean them, clean them, clean them.

Rick: You have a lot of tattoos and as we speak you are getting another tattoo.

Bridget: I ran out of room on my arms, so now I'm starting on my legs.

Rick: How did you choose the tattoo artist from today?

Bridget: It is kind of a long story. A girl/dancer recommended him. When we first came by he wasn't here, but finally I got to meet him and thought he was awesome. You have to get to know your tattoo artist before you get it done. You have to get something drawn up. I didn't pick it out of a book, it is something he drew up and it's beautiful and I love it. My mother is afraid of snakes and it is a sexy girl snake.

Rick: How long do you plan on featuring like you are at Bazookas?

Bridget: As long as my body will let me because I have arthritis really bad. The day I pass out on stage because my body won't let me is the day I stop stripping.

Rick: If your band really kicks in and get's going, will you do more singing and less striping?

Bridget: I will do no stripping and all singing. I will go on the road. I'm like Courtney Love, when I sing my top comes off, so don't worry you won't be disappointed. You get two for one.

Rick: What other plans do you have for the future if any?

Bridget: Work on my dreams, work on making money and keep buying my house and paying my mortgage payments. That's it. I'm getting my tattoo done by Robbie Lopez. It's at Exile Tattoos. Just so you know he has a huge penis but I didn't see it. It's through word of mouth. Actually I can see it through his pants. His penis is so big it can unzip his own pants.

Rick: So you haven't given him a blowjob?

Bridget: No, I haven't seen it; it must be big because his pants un-zip themselves.

Rick: How many porn movies did you do?

Bridget: Over fifty, under eighty I think.

Rick: Now during that time did you really enjoy what you were doing or was it so-so?

Bridget: I enjoyed what I was doing 95% of the time. A few times I did not. One man spun me around his cock because I was a little person and he thought it would be cool. I was offended and I slapped him, got off and said I was done doing the porn. Another time a man promised to use a condom but he took it off saying his dick wouldn't get hard. I jumped off and said I'm not doing the porn. I didn't get paid for those but that is about it. Those were my only bad experiences. Other than that, I didn't fake it and it was awesome. I had the best time 95% of the time.

Rick: Were there any particular people you really enjoyed working with?

Bridget: Yes, one man in particular and god I wish I could remember his name. Dick Nasty, he's done everybody and he says he'll stick it in anything but the reason I enjoyed him was because he had a great personality. Oh my god... we got to laugh! Older man balding, my style, he was really nice and sweet.

Rick: Do you prefer being on top or them being on top?

Bridget: I prefer for them to be on top, because when I'm on top it hits rock bottom. I'm shallow, so when they're on top they know how far to go and just what to do. I don't know, I just like to be on the bottom for some reason.

Rick: When it comes to cock size do you prefer an average man, below average, above average or what?

Bridget: The biggest the better I used to say. It really doesn't matter as much. I like them with girth and wide. I would say I'm shallow so the right guy for me would be girthy but short, 6". I used to want bigger and better but now I just get toys instead. I love toys. Did you know girls had three holes? Four if you count the mouth. They all orgasm so a girl can have do the math. That is why some women have trouble having some orgasms. Until I saw Tai, the amazing Tai I realized that women have three holes. Can I say them? Anal, vaginal, urethra holes, and they can have clitoral orgasm, urethra orgasm, vaginal orgasm and anal orgasm. Think of the combination. That is why some women go crazy.

Rick: Well, speaking of deep throat, can you deep throat?

Bridget: Can I deep throat? Do you know how I got my name Bridget? Renaissance Fairs! It was between Fiona MacMurphy and Bridget MacMurphy I choose Bridget MacMurphy. At Renaissance Fairs I tried to do fire breathing. I attempted, I burnt my self and then I met a sword swallower. You have three gag points, I got past two but not the third so yes I can deep throat. I cannot stick a sword down to my stomach. I can deep throat past my throat. Everybody in my band, my Mom taught me growing up if you want to be successful surround yourself with people who don't do drugs. Two of the people in my band are teachers, English teachers don't' do drugs, one has children works at Hagen Daub and doesn't do drugs, drummer doesn't drink or do drugs. I'm the only messed up one and I'm the singer, but that is when I'm creative I do good lyrics.

Rick: Isn't one of your band members Philippino?

Bridget: Yes, Ruth, my rhythm guitar player and she is hot. I'm a quarter Tai, Irish, Black and Guatemalan. And I'm mad because she is darker than I am. I'm pretty dark. She is hot man I mean hot.

Rick: Would you do her?

Bridget: Yes. It's a rumor that there's been pictures taken and we think its true because her boyfriend Damian who is going to be her husband now says it is true. Her clit is so big it is the size of a small dick and she could probably fuck a chick with her clit. There is one picture of it.

Rick: Well Bridget, I sure do appreciate your time and especially going through all this pain you are going through getting this tattoo while doing this interview at the same time.

Bridget: Yes, I am in a lot of pain.

Rick: Do you have a fan club address?

Bridget: By law and court order I own BridgettheMidget.com forever. You'll be able to pick up my CDs at regular CD stores, punk CD stores, and Tower records. Other than that you can go to: www.bridgetthemidget.com I can send it to you signed.

WRITERS NOTE: Bridget, even through the pain of operations, abuse from other kids while growing up, and being a small person, has not let it keep her from doing what she wants to do in life. She's a very sincere and honest person who speaks her mind and enjoys life. As a matter of fact, she was late getting to the tattoo parlor because of too much partying the night before. You go girl! I'd like to thank Bridget Powerz, Bazooka's Showgirls and the staff, and Robbie from Exile Tattoo for putting up with me. For more information on Bazooka's Showgirls call (816) 421-1915.
